What was searched, and how
The search behind the first four parts of this book was one incomplete traverse. A fuller one has since been made. Here is what it covered.
Two sourcebooks were assembled. The Human Colony transcript archive, which is the weekly sessions with Jim Charles across some thirteen years. And eighty-seven accepted Bashar transcripts, from the material channeled by Darryl Anka since 1984.
The reading was done in five rounds, working through human origins, Lemuria and the migrations, the chronology of Atlantis, and then the individual voices one at a time.
Three methods were used together: exact-word search over a full-text index, meaning-based search over a vector index, and passage-by-passage reading outward from every hit.
One lesson from that work overturned an earlier conclusion of my own. Automatic captions mangle proper names badly. Lemurian comes out as mauryans, as maurians, as limerence, as Lemoore, as Miffy Liam. In one session given over entirely to Lemuria, the word appears correctly not once. An earlier search of mine found nothing on the subject and I took the silence for evidence. It was a defect in the transcription.
What the fuller search produced
A great deal more material, and a picture that is all over the place. Agreements in some particulars, flat disagreements in others, and no obvious way to line them up.
I want to frame that state of affairs before going further.
Muddy water is the normal condition of a subject before it settles. History works this way. So does archaeology, and so does any field whose evidence arrives in fragments from parties who were never trying to be consistent with one another. Contradiction among sources is what a live question looks like from inside.
In channeling it is more striking than usual, and there is a reason for that. The material comes from outside our reality and arrives through a human mind. It is not well grounded. It does not have to make sense.
Which is exactly why the places where it does make sense are worth attention. When sources that could not have coordinated arrive at the same specific thing, the convergence is a signal, because nothing in the nature of the material requires it.
None of what follows is written from a sceptical position. My working assumption is that channeling is a mixed bag: sometimes vague, sometimes garbled in transmission, and sometimes extraordinarily precise. The task is to make honest sense of contradictory sources, and to notice where the contradictions resolve and where they do not.
Why I take channeling seriously
A word about my own grounds for spending a book on this.
I have a good deal of evidence that channeling and the practices adjacent to it are powerful, and that they connect to ordinary life rather than only to cosmology.
The clearest cases are the least dramatic. Much channeled material is vague. But where it has been practically needed, I have found it exact. In sessions with Jim Charles about working relationships, business relationships and personal ones, I have described a person so vaguely that I could not recall their name, and the reading has come back with precise statements about that person's character and about how the relationship would go. I found out afterward that it was right.
That is a different order of thing from an account of Atlantis, and it cannot be checked in the same way. It is why I keep asking.
What a channeler is doing
Material arriving through a human mind comes out in that mind's vocabulary and that mind's sense of scale.
Nobody thinks natively in millions of years. A figure of twenty-three thousand may be what fifty million becomes on its way through someone who has never had occasion to hold such a number. So the short dates may be translations.
The same applies to everything else that comes through. Place names, body descriptions, technologies. A channeler renders what arrives into the words available to him.
And a point about counting, which is easy to get wrong in the encouraging direction. A channeler speaks in many voices. Jim Charles gives Finyet, Enki, Khufu, Anubis, Horus, Nefertiti, Akhenaten, Osiris, Tekkrr and Kwan Yin. Nine of those voices agreeing on a point is one testimony wearing nine names. The unit of evidence is the channeler.
Why the timescales sort by method
The dates in this book run from a few thousand years to tens of millions, and they do not scatter at random. They sort by how the material was received.
Teacher transmission and clairvoyant reading of the record give millions. Blavatsky, Koot Hoomi, Scott-Elliot working from Leadbeater, Steiner.
Trance gives tens of thousands. Cayce, Finyet, Bashar.
That is exactly the difference one would expect between a taught chronology and a witnessed scene. A seer reading the record sees the whole span laid out at once. A voice speaking of what it lived through reports its own lifetime and the destruction it remembers.
Both are looking at Atlantis. They are standing at different distances from it.
Which layer each source is describing
Follow that through and the contradiction thins.
The deep sources give the founding and the great sinking. The trance sources give the late islands and the final destructions.
Blavatsky says as much of Plato: his Atlanteans were the last remnant of the race, its degenerate descendants. He was describing the end of a very long story and taking it for the whole.
The same reading applies across the board. It is a division of labour.
The same reading applied to the geography
Atlantis lasted tens of millions of years and shrank the whole time. So the question where was Atlantis has more than one right answer, depending on when.
Jim Charles gives the Mediterranean arc, running from the Greek islands down the middle of that sea and out past Portugal. That is the late shape, and it is the one that fits the Messinian window.
Cayce and Blavatsky give the Atlantic, which is the earlier and larger country.
Anka puts the main island in the Bahamas with Crete as a colony. Michalak puts it on Crete alone. Those may be colonies, or remnants, or the last islands seen from different angles.
Different sources describing different centuries of the same declining land.
What holds across genuinely independent sources
This is where the weight of the whole book sits, and I will set it out carefully, because some of these people had no access to one another and some are separated by centuries and oceans.
The Zohar and the Popol Vuh. Thirteenth-century Spain and pre-Columbian Guatemala, both describing an earlier humanity that was bodily, unfinished, destroyed by water, and left an ape behind as its remnant.
Blavatsky and the Aztec Suns. Seven Root Races with ours the fifth, and five Suns with ours the fifth, arrived at in London and in Mexico with no contact between them.
Steiner and Cayce, on the servant class bred for labour and the quarrel that destroyed Atlantis over how it should be treated.
And the direction of descent, in every source that addresses it: spirit into matter, greater into lesser. Nobody in this literature has us climbing up.
The details that arrive independently and match
Three, and each one landed on something nobody could have arranged.
Scott-Elliot, in 1896, puts the Atlantean founding colony on the West African coast where Ghana and Nigeria now stand. The Veshuans are on that coast, and nowhere else in the world.
Blavatsky, in 1888, names the Australians as the only pure descendants of the Third Race, against the whole grain of her age. Aboriginal Australians carry the highest parahuman fraction measured anywhere.
Koot Hoomi, in 1882, ties the culmination of the sinking to the raising of the Alps and puts it in the Miocene. The Miocene ends with the flood that refilled the Mediterranean, and the Alps did the bulk of their rising in the same span.
What is genuinely unsettled
Four things, and there is no use pretending otherwise.
The relationship between Lemuria and Atlantis. Four models are current in the material: Lemuria first with Atlantis breaking away, Atlantis first with Lemuria breaking away, two separate Root Races, and the two coexisting in one place. This book takes the third. Nobody agrees.
The Neanderthals. Jim Charles alone gives two incompatible accounts, Khufu against Enki and Finyet.
The precise geography, as set out above.
And the contributor lists, which vary from source to source in both membership and share.
Markers that can be tested
The most useful thing to come out of the sourcebooks is a set of claims that could be checked against genetic data. They are set down here as a list of things to do.
Rh negative blood as a marker of alien ancestry, attributed by three separate sources.
Alu elements, the repeated sequences scattered through the human genome, described by Enki as partly inserted rather than native.
The Basque and the Aztec as Atlantean, per Bashar. The Scandinavians, per Finyet. The West African and Saharan coast, per Scott-Elliot, Blavatsky and Bashar.
Denisovan ancestry in Australia, New Guinea and the Americas as the Lemurian trace.
Each of those is a statement about living people, and each of them could be examined.
What the named sources say about who contributed what
One further thing from the sourcebooks, which is the closest the material comes to a division of labour.
The Anunnaki are credited with the human form itself, the African look first and Europe afterward.
The Arcturians held Asia, and Enki says his own group did not interfere there.
The Lyrans are the earliest, and are said to be strongest in the Neanderthals.
The Pleiadians seeded the Lemurians, and are credited with a later augmentation.
The Orions were hybridizers in Atlantis, and are blamed for the caste system.
The reptilians and draconians are put at six to nine percent.
The Atlanteans at fifteen to twenty percent, per Finyet.
Those figures do not add to anything sensible and the sources do not agree on them. They are recorded because the assignments are specific, and specific claims can eventually be tested against specific populations.
Fire, cold, water
Before the dates, the mechanisms.
The esoteric sources do not describe one destruction. They describe a series, and they name what each one was made of.
Blavatsky states it as a rule rather than as a report. Every Root Race closes in a cataclysm, and the cataclysms alternate: fire, then water, then fire again. Steiner gives the Lemurian half in detail, describing ground thin and undermined everywhere by volcanic forces, with mighty volcanoes almost everywhere, and that fire taking the land in the end.
The Hopi give three, in order. The first world ended in fire. The second ended in cold. The third ended in flood. Those who kept the laws came through each one, and the survivors of the third sheltered inside hollow reeds.
The Aztec Suns give four before ours: jaguars, then hurricane, then fire from the sky, then water.
The Popol Vuh and Genesis each give water alone, which is the destruction nearest to us and the one most likely to be remembered.
So across esoteric sources with no contact between them, the same three agents recur: fire, cold, water. Not a single flood, but a sequence of unlike endings.
The planet supplied all three, in that order
Take the last hundred thousand years and the three arrive in the sequence the Hopi give.
Fire. Around seventy-four thousand years ago Toba erupted in Sumatra, the largest volcanic event of the Quaternary, in the middle of the ground the esoteric sources assign to Mu. The Lemurian world is the western Pacific rim, which is the most volcanically active region on the surface of this planet and has been throughout the period.
Cold. Between twenty-six and nineteen thousand years ago the ice reached its maximum. Sea level stood a hundred and twenty metres below its present level, the Sahara was desert, the northern continents were under ice sheets kilometres thick, and habitable land contracted everywhere.
Water. Then the ice melted, and it melted in pulses. Meltwater Pulse 1A lifted the sea fifteen to twenty metres in under five centuries. The Younger Dryas interrupted the warming at twelve thousand nine hundred years ago and released it again at eleven thousand seven hundred. Every coastline in the world moved inland, and much of what had been lived on went under.
Fire, then cold, then water. The order the Hopi give, and the order the planet delivered.
One caution belongs with that. Peoples who live through volcanoes, ice ages and floods have reason to remember volcanoes, ice ages and floods, and three is a small number of categories. What is less easily accounted for is the sequence, and that the sequence recurs in sources that had no way of comparing notes.
Where the sources actually converge
A fuller search across the channeled and revelatory literature, set against the geological and genetic records, produced one cluster far stronger than the rest.
It sits between about thirteen thousand and ten thousand years ago.
Plato, writing around 360 before our era from what he says was Egyptian priestly transmission, puts the sinking nine thousand years before Solon. About nine thousand six hundred before our era.
Blavatsky, in 1888, describes a serious terrestrial change around twelve thousand years ago, followed by the submergence of the last Atlantic island. Her figure for that final sinking is nine thousand five hundred and sixty-four before our era.
Cayce, in trance readings beginning in 1923, puts the final destruction of Atlantis at around ten thousand before our era, with advance warning and the migration of survivors.
Ra, through Carla Rueckert in 1981, gives catastrophic Atlantean warfare around eleven thousand years ago, a destruction at ten thousand eight hundred and twenty-one years ago, and the last great land masses submerging about nine thousand six hundred years ago.
Bashar, through Darryl Anka, on record by 1996, places Atlantis at about eleven to twelve thousand years ago.
And the Hopi describe a previous world ending in a great flood, with small groups escaping. They give no usable chronology, so the date cannot be pinned, and the sequence is the same.
Five sources with datable statements, from five traditions, across two and a half thousand years of transmission, landing inside a window about two thousand years wide.
What the planet was doing then
That window is not quiet ground.
The last glaciation ended in it. Global sea level rose something like a hundred and twenty metres across the deglaciation, and it did not rise smoothly. Meltwater Pulse 1A, around fourteen thousand six hundred years ago, lifted the sea between fifteen and twenty metres in under five centuries. Every coast on earth moved inland, and everything built on the old shorelines went under.
Then, at twelve thousand nine hundred years ago, the warming reversed. The Younger Dryas returned the northern hemisphere to near-glacial conditions within decades, held it there for more than a thousand years, and ended as abruptly as it began at eleven thousand seven hundred.
So the period the sources name is the most violent stretch of climatic and sea-level change in the whole span of our species.
One point about the dating of Bashar's statement
The Younger Dryas impact hypothesis, which proposes a cometary event at twelve thousand nine hundred years ago, entered wide circulation only after 2007. Bashar's placement of Atlantis at eleven to twelve thousand years ago is on record by 1996, eleven years earlier.
That does not make his date correct. It means it was not read off the popular science of its moment.
The bottleneck, and what it may be the signature of
Human ancestry contains a narrow place.
Hu and colleagues published the finding in Science in 2023. Working from the genomes of more than three thousand living people, they recovered a period between roughly nine hundred and thirty thousand and eight hundred and thirteen thousand years ago in which the breeding population of our ancestors fell to about thirteen hundred individuals, and stayed at that level for something like a hundred and seventeen thousand years. Around ninety-nine percent of the ancestral population was lost.
A second and better known bottleneck sits at around seventy thousand years ago.
And the low diversity is measurable in us now. Human beings, spread across every continent, carry less genetic variation than a single troop of chimpanzees in one forest. Everyone alive is descended from a very small number of people.
The mainstream reading of the deeper event is climate. It falls near a shift in the glacial cycles, and Africa was drier. That reading is reasonable and nothing in the data requires it.
Because a bottleneck is not a description of a cause. It is a description of a shape: one narrow point through which everyone afterward descends. A near-extinction leaves that shape. So does a founding.
What the sources say a bottleneck is
Finyet was asked about the bottleneck in human ancestry. He did not describe a catastrophe. He called it the seeding of the human population.
That answer is worth holding for a moment, because it is not an evasion. It is a different account of the same fact.
If our species was made from a chosen stock, then the chosen stock was small. A small founding group leaves exactly the mark that a near-extinction leaves, because the two are the same event seen from opposite ends. In one telling almost everybody died. In the other, a few were selected and the rest were not used.
The genetics cannot separate those. It sees the narrow place and reports it.
And there is a third possibility, which is worse
Suppose the seeding worked.
The account this book has been following says that what was made was a reduction. Telepathy turned down. Compassion turned down. Competitiveness left in and running without the restraints that had been on it. Enki says the best gene pool could not be used because it could not be worked in with their thought processes, which is a way of saying that the material which would not take direction was set aside in favour of material that would.
Now put that line out on a planet already occupied by seven other human peoples.
We know what happened next, because we can count the survivors. There are none. Every parahuman people is gone and we are here.
A population that replaces every neighbouring population leaves the same signature in the data as a population that nearly died. All later humans descend through one narrow point either way. The difference is whether the people at that point were the ones who survived something or the ones who did something, and the genome does not record which.
So the bottleneck may not be a disaster that happened to our ancestors. It may be the moment the design was proved.
Why we out-evolved everyone
There is a further consequence, and it explains a thing about our species that is otherwise strange.
Human beings fight each other constantly. Not only other species, and not only in defence. Within the species, between groups, without pause, across every period we have any record of. Chimpanzees do it too and we do it far more.
That is usually described as a moral failing or an evolutionary accident. It is neither. It is selection, and it is the most intense kind there is.
An animal under pressure from a predator or a climate is being selected by something that does not adapt. A people under pressure from another people is being selected by something that adapts as fast as they do. Every advantage gained is answered. Every answer is answered again. The pressure never releases and it never falls behind.
So a species that fights itself evolves faster than one that does not, and it evolves along particular lines: cunning, coordination, technology, deception, and the capacity to organise violence at scale.
We out-evolved the other seven because we were doing to each other what they were not doing to each other.
And if the loss of compassion and telepathy was designed rather than accidental, then this was designed too, whether or not anybody intended it. Take restraint out of a social animal and you have not merely made it dangerous. You have set it to breeding itself, generation after generation, for the qualities that win.
That is a machine for producing a species like ours, and it produced one.
The one we can actually watch
Everything above concerns events too old to observe directly. One case is recent enough to observe, and the pattern in it is not disputed.
Between about seven thousand and five thousand years ago, the male line contracted sharply and the female line did not.
The Y chromosome passes only from father to son, and mitochondrial DNA only from mother to child. Comparing the two gives the male and female histories of a population separately, which no other part of the genome allows.
Across that period the effective male population fell by something on the order of twentyfold. The female figure held or rose. At the low point the estimates give roughly one reproducing man for every seventeen women.
Disease and famine take both sexes. So does climate, and no climatic event of the necessary size falls in that window. Whatever occurred acted on men.
The explanation now generally accepted is social. As agriculture spread, groups came to be organised around descent through the male line, so that the men of a group were closely related to one another. When one such group was destroyed or absorbed by another, a whole male lineage ended together while the women were taken in.
So the contraction is attributed to competition between groups of men, sustained over some two thousand years and across much of the inhabited world.
One difference has to be kept in view. This is a collapse in the male line. The population as a whole did not fall, and a bottleneck of the kind the sources describe at the end of Atlantis is a reduction in the whole breeding population, which is a different thing.
What it does establish is narrower. Conflict between human groups can remove a reproducing lineage on that scale, within that period, and the resulting signal in the genome would be read as a natural catastrophe by anyone not examining the sexes separately.
Putting it together, and the one honest way to do it
The obvious next step is a single history: one timeline carrying the geology, the climate, the genetics and the esoteric sources together.
I cannot build one, and the reason is worth setting out, because it points at what these sources are actually good for.
Order survives; magnitude does not
The esoteric sources agree on sequence far better than they agree on dates.
Every one of them gives the same order. Lemuria before Atlantis. Arrival, then height, then decline, then a great destruction, then scattered remnants, then a final loss. Fire before water. The psychic faculty greatest early and diminishing since. Speech arriving as direct thought receded. A servant class bred and a quarrel over it. Nobody disputes any of that.
What they disagree about is when, and they disagree by factors of a thousand.
That pattern follows from what a channeler does. Order is a relationship, and relationships pass through a human mind more or less intact. Magnitude is a number, and numbers are rendered into whatever vocabulary the receiving mind has. A man who has never had occasion to hold fifty million years will not produce fifty million years.
So the sequence is the durable part and the chronology is the fragile part.
Two layers, kept apart
What follows is built in two layers, and mixing them would produce a history that looks authoritative and is not.
The dated layer comes from physical evidence. Geology, climate, sea level, ancient DNA. Every date carries an uncertainty and nothing esoteric is attached to it.
Around a hundred and eighty million years ago the Atlantic begins to open, and it has been widening since. Sixty-six million years ago the dinosaurs end. Between six million and five and a third million the Mediterranean dries and refills. Seven million years ago our line separates from the chimpanzees. Nine hundred thousand years ago a severe contraction in the ancestral breeding population, disputed. Six hundred thousand, the separation of the Neanderthal and Denisovan line. Three hundred thousand, the modern human form. Seventy-four thousand, Toba. Fifty-five thousand, Neanderthal DNA entering our line. Twenty-six to nineteen thousand, the glacial maximum. Fourteen thousand six hundred, Meltwater Pulse 1A. Twelve thousand nine hundred to eleven thousand seven hundred, the Younger Dryas. Seven to five thousand, the collapse of the male line.
The esoteric layer comes from the sources, and carries no years at all.
The Lemurians are here first, in soft bodies, without speech, communicating directly, the third eye open. Mind arrives in them. Their land is volcanic and their world ends in fire.
The Atlanteans follow. Bodies consolidate. Speech comes forward and direct thought recedes. Their science is the handling of vital force. They engineer, they breed a servant class, and they quarrel over it. Their land goes down by degrees over a very long period, in a series rather than at once.
Then remnants. Islands, colonies, dispersals, and a last destruction by water.
Then us, made from a chosen stock, reduced in faculty and increased in competitiveness, and afterward alone.
That sequence is what the sources actually support. Set out without dates it contains no contradictions at all.
Where the two layers can be pinned together
Two places, and I would defend no others.
The Messinian. The geography Finyet describes requires a dry or half-dry Mediterranean basin, and there is exactly one window in the last twenty million years in which that basin was dry. Koot Hoomi independently puts the culmination of the sinking in the same period and ties it to the raising of the Alps. Two sources and one physical constraint, agreeing.
The ten to thirteen thousand year cluster. Plato, Blavatsky, Cayce, Ra and Bashar land inside a window two thousand years wide, on the most violent stretch of climatic and sea-level change in the span of our species. Five sources and a documented upheaval, agreeing.
Everything else stays unpinned. The rise of the Atlanteans, the seeding of humanity, the loss of telepathy, the destruction of the parahuman peoples: all of those are in the sequence and none of them has a date I would put in print.
That is less than a history. It is what the evidence supports, and putting years on the rest would be invention wearing the clothes of scholarship.
The chronology, in four tracks
The two-layer method set out above keeps the physical dates apart from the esoteric sequence. What follows lays four separate records on one line and looks at where they fall together.
Track one is geology and climate. Eruptions, glaciations, sea level, abrupt reversals. Dated by ice cores, marine sediment and radiometry.
Track two is our own species. The separation from the chimpanzee line, the appearance of the modern form, the departure from Africa.
Track three is the parahuman peoples. This is the track I left out of earlier drafts, and it carries two different kinds of date for each of the seven. The separation, when their line parted from our ancestors. And the crossing, when their DNA entered ours. Those are set out in Part Three and they are worth having in front of us again here.
Tamekian separation, around one point eight million years. Korimian, around eight hundred thousand. Neanderthal and Denisovan, around six hundred thousand. Veshuan, somewhere between three hundred and sixty thousand and a million. Sildarian, early and unspecified.
And the crossings. Korimian before seventy thousand, because it is in everyone. Neanderthal around fifty-five thousand. Denisovan in several waves, the latest around thirty thousand. Veshuan anywhere from a hundred and twenty-four thousand years ago to nearly the present. Tamekian into the Denisovans rather than into us.
Track four is the esoteric sources. Blavatsky, Koot Hoomi, Scott-Elliot, Cayce, Ra, Bashar, Finyet, and the Hopi and Aztec traditions.
Four tracks. Two of them physical, one of them genetic, one of them received.
What appears when they are overlaid
Something falls out of this that I have not seen stated anywhere, and it is simple enough that its absence from the literature is itself surprising.
The crossings cluster with the destructions.
Take them one at a time.
The Korimian crossing must precede the departure from Africa, which puts it earlier than seventy thousand years ago. Toba erupts at seventy-four thousand. Bashar places a destruction at seventy thousand.
The Neanderthal crossing falls at around fifty-five thousand. Ra puts Mu washed beneath the ocean at fifty-three thousand, with survivors dispersing to Russia and the Americas. Cayce puts the first destruction of Atlantis at fifty thousand seven hundred before our era.
The latest Denisovan crossing falls at around thirty thousand. Cayce puts the second Atlantean destruction at twenty-eight thousand before our era. The glacial maximum runs from twenty-six to nineteen thousand, and European populations contract into refugia through it.
Three crossings. Three clusters of destruction dates. Each pair within a few thousand years of the other.
Why that should be expected
The mechanism is not mysterious and it is the reason I take the pattern seriously rather than as coincidence.
A settled population does not interbreed with a distant one. It stays where it is, breeding among its own, which is precisely why the separations in track three are so deep: these peoples had been apart for hundreds of thousands of years without meeting.
A destroyed population moves. Its survivors leave, and they go wherever the land allows, and on the way they encounter peoples they would never otherwise have met.
So catastrophe produces migration, and migration produces crossing. A destruction and an introgression a few thousand years apart is not two facts. It is one event and its consequence.
Which means the destruction dates in the esoteric sources and the crossing dates in the genome are describing the same episodes from opposite ends. The sources record the disaster. The genome records who ended up in bed with whom afterward.
The caution
Three matches inside a period that contains a great many dates is not a strong result on its own, and I want to be exact about how weak it is.
The window from seventy thousand to twenty thousand years ago holds several major climatic events, several eruptions, and at least four documented crossings. Dates are dense in there. Given enough of them, some will fall near each other.
What raises this above coincidence, if anything does, is the direction. The pattern predicts that crossings should follow destructions rather than precede them, and in all three cases they do. It also predicts that a destruction with no crossing after it should be rare, and that a crossing with no preceding disturbance should be rare.
Those are checkable statements. They are checkable by anyone with the published dates and an afternoon.
